Veterinary Extern - General Practice

Companion Pet Clinic of Klamath Falls Located in a rural market with a hometown feel, the clinic is staffed by an experienced, passionate veterinarian who mentors students in clinical care. Externship Overview This externship provides hands‑on veterinary experience. Students work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain skills in patient history gathering, physical examination, treatment planning, diagnostics, dentistry, surgical assistance or performance, and medical management. Externs also develop communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients. Externship Duration Externship experiences range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students (regardless of class year) are encouraged to participate. Stipend Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. For stipend program details, visit the program page. Qualifications Current veterinary student, any class year. Eager to learn and apply clinical skills under mentorship. Open to a two‑to‑eight‑week schedule.
