Job Description

Working Hours:

6 days per week, 8 hours per day.

Flexibility in covering schedules on weekends is a must base on business needs and on special occasions.

Scope of the Job:

The Sales Associate is responsible for delivering exceptional customer experience by applying effective sales and customer service techniques. The role aims to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty while achieving individual and store sales targets and maintaining the highest standards of store presentation and operations.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales

• Represent the Rifai brand through a professional appearance, grooming, and positive conduct, in line with company image standards.
• Greet every customer promptly and warmly, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment they enter.
• Understand customer needs through active listening and questions, then recommend the most suitable products (e.g., roast profiles, blends, brewing methods, gifts, accompaniments).
• Share product knowledge with confidence, including origin, roast, flavor notes, and brewing tips, and offer tastings or samples where applicable.
• Guide customers through selection, grinding, packaging, and payment so the experience is smooth and efficient.
• Apply cross-selling and up-selling techniques naturally, suggesting complementary products and promotions without being pushy.
• Promote loyalty programs, promotions, and seasonal offers.
• Achieve individual sales targets and contribute to store KPIs (e.g., sales, average basket value, units per transaction).
• Handle customer inquiries and complaints courteously, resolving them within your authority or escalating to the Store Manager when needed.
• Collect customer feedback, buying patterns, and competitor or market observations, and share them with management.

Store Operation

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, prices, promotions, and new launches.
• Display, organize, and replenish merchandise according to visual merchandising guidelines and planograms.
• Keep the store clean, tidy, and presentable at all times, including shelves, displays, counters, equipment, and shared areas.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and storage standards, including FIFO rotation and expiry date checks.
• Support inventory control: receiving deliveries, replenishing stock, performing stock counts, and reporting discrepancies, damages, or shortages promptly.
• Operate the POS system and handle cash, card, and other payments accurately, following cash handling and opening/closing procedures.

Compliance, Health & Security

• Comply with company policies, procedures, and operational standards, including the code of conduct.
• Follow payment, exchange, return, and refund procedures consistently.
• Stay alert to security risks, suspicious activity, and potential theft or fraud, and report them immediately.
• Follow health and safety rules and help maintain a safe environment for customers and colleagues.
• Protect company assets, cash, stock, and confidential information

Job Requirements:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Previous retail sales or customer service experience is an advantage.
• Linguistic Skills: Fluency in Arabic and English is required.
