Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Rapid City, South Dakota.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: OR - Operating Room\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 09/28/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 40 hours per week\n Shift: 10 hours, days\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Days, 4x10hrs\n Hours: 40 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Sep 28, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with circulation experience in Ortho/Neuro and ENT cases for a hospital OR position requiring SD or compact RN licensure.Details\n \n 4-bed OR unit averaging 7-13 cases per day\n Case types include Ortho, Podiatry, Neurosurgical, Pain Management, and ENT procedures\n Procedures include total joints, ORIF, microsurgery, laminectomy, fusion, discectomy, ACDF, Perc TAL for club foot, and pain injections\n 10-hour day shifts, with potential for four 10-hour shifts\n 8-hour shifts required during vacation coverage periods\n Epic EMR used for charting\n Potential to float to Rapid City hospital OR if needed\n Call required approximately twice per week\n No weekend rotation required\n Requirements\n \n Active RN license (SD or Compact) currently in hand\n Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience required\n First-time travelers considered only with 2+ years of experience\n Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS\n Circulation experience in Ortho/Neuro cases required\n ENT case experience required\n Completion of an approved nursing education program\n Additional Information\n \n Support staff includes phlebotomy, resource nurse, and anesthesia/CRNA team\n No IV/VAT team, respiratory therapy, or hospitalist support on unit\n Orientation includes first-day computer training followed by 2-3 days with a preceptor\n Holiday coverage required for 2 of 4 major holidays (New Year's, Labor Day, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, July 4th, Christmas)\n Time off requests require manager approval\n Scrubs provided by facility\n Free parking available\n Must reside at least 100 miles from any Monument Health facility\n Permanent staff must wait one full year before returning as a traveler\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-748196.
