Pastry Assistant at Sweet Desires Dessert Lounge, 44 Royal Palm Pointe, Vero Beach, FL Sweet Desires Dessert Lounge is inviting applications for the position of Pastry Assistant. This role is designed for individuals with a foundational knowledge of baking who are eager to advance their skills in the pastry arts under the guidance of our Executive Pastry Chef. Responsibilities Assisting in the crafting and execution of a diverse menu of desserts. Applying and expanding baking and pastry skills through hands‑on experience with mixing, baking, finishing, and decorating techniques. Participating in the creative process of developing new menu items, including researching and suggesting innovative ideas and flavors. Ensuring the kitchen remains clean and organized, adhering to all health and safety standards. Assisting with inventory management, including ordering supplies and managing stock levels. Qualifications Some formal training or professional experience in baking and pastry arts. A strong desire to learn and grow within the pastry department, with an openness to guidance and constructive feedback from the Executive Pastry Chef. Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment, maintaining high standards of quality and precision. Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to also work independently on assigned tasks. A commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
