Job Description

The Junior/Senior Quality Technician role focuses on ensuring the highest quality standards for custom electrical control panels and the broader manufacturing environment. You will perform detailed testing and inspection activities, support root cause failure analysis, and help drive continuous improvement initiatives across both product and process. This position plays a key role in developing and refining manufacturing and testing procedures, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting safe and reliable panel energization.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed quality inspections and checks on custom industrial control panels and related assemblies to ensure they meet internal and customer specifications.
• Conduct electrical testing of control panels, including safe panel energization, and document test results accurately and consistently.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics in both JIC and IEC formats to verify correct wiring, component placement, and panel configuration.
• Support root cause failure analysis by investigating defects, nonconformances, and test failures, and contribute to effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop, refine, and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and testing processes to support continuous improvement in the manufacturing environment.
• Drive quality initiatives that improve product reliability, reduce defects, and enhance overall process efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and other teams to resolve quality issues and ensure timely defect resolution.
• Maintain and control quality documentation, including inspection records, test reports, and process documentation, to ensure traceability and compliance.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of quality assurance and quality control practices throughout the manufacturing process.
• Provide feedback and recommendations on process improvements, tooling, and methods that enhance product quality and consistency.
• Assist in training or guiding other team members on quality standards, inspection techniques, and testing procedures as needed.

Essential Skills

• Proven quality assurance experience, including performing inspections, conducting tests, documenting results, and resolving defects.
• Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset with hands-on experience developing procedures, improving processes, and driving quality initiatives.
• Strong understanding of electrical principles, including troubleshooting techniques and safe panel energization practices.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics in both JIC and IEC formats with a high degree of accuracy.
• Experience working around, building, wiring, and/or testing custom industrial control panels in a manufacturing or similar environment.
• Proficiency in quality control and quality inspection methods applied to electrical products and assemblies.
• Experience supporting or performing root cause failure analysis to identify and address underlying issues.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing, inspection, and documentation.
• Ability to manage and maintain document control for quality-related records and procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience participating in or supporting continuous improvement programs within a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with quality check processes and quality control tools used in electrical manufacturing.
• Comfort working with cross-functional teams, including production and engineering, to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Strong written documentation skills for recording inspections, tests, and process changes.

Work Environment

This role operates within a manufacturing environment focused on custom electrical control panels. You will work around electrical equipment, wiring, and energized panels, following established safety practices and procedures. The position involves regular interaction with production and engineering teams on the shop floor and in test areas, using tools and equipment for electrical testing, inspection, and documentation control. The work setting emphasizes continuous improvement, collaboration, and adherence to defined quality processes and standards.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eastlake, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
