Machine Operator I

The Machine Operator I is responsible for the set up and operation of equipment within their cell and performing all hourly checks in regards to production, safety and quality.

1st shift- Mon to Thurs (4am to 2:30pm) $16.85hr- $19.64hr DOE

2nd shift- Mon to Thurs (2:30pm to 1am) $17.85h- $19.64hr DOE

Responsibilities:

• Read blueprints, routers and determine the necessary operations
• Read calipers and micrometers
• Select abrasive belts or wheel according to specified type of finish
• Perform hourly safety and quality checks
• Examine parts for acceptability
• Setup of all equipment within given cell
• Cleanup and SFS of area as needed
• Assist in other cells as requested by leadership

Education Required:

• HS Diploma or GED Equivalent

Work Experience Required:

• Previous work in a manufacturing environment preferred

Skills & Knowledge Required:

• Ability to read, write and comprehend basic work instructions, short correspondence and memos
• Mathematical aptitude and ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure including whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Capable of using common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions including written and oral

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and use hands
• Required to lift and/or move 10 lbs regularly and up to 33 lbs occasional
• Use of vision including peripheral, color, distance, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, strong fumes and loud noises
• Occasionally exposed to extreme temperatures
