Category Accounting/Finance Job Overview The Piedmont Triad Regional Council (PTRC) is seeking an Accountant to support the financial operations of the Regional Council. The accountant will work directly with the general ledger, perform account reconciliations, assist departments, and develop, review, and modify accounting procedures, systems, and policies in accordance with federal and state regulations, organizational policies, and governmental accounting principles. Responsibilities Work directly with the general ledger, including account reconciliations and department assistance. Assist the Finance Director in preparing and analyzing fiscal reports and interpreting the Fiscal Control Act. Develop, review, and modify accounting procedures, systems, and policies. Perform routine to complex accounting tasks requiring independent judgment, discretion, and initiative. Qualifications CPA candidate with up to two years of professional accounting experience, preferably in auditing or the public sector. Graduated from an accredited four‑year institution with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Knowledge of governmental accounting principles, budgeting, internal controls, and related regulations. Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to interpret and apply rules, policies, and regulations and establish relationships at all levels of the organization. Proficiency with modern office practices, procedures, and equipment, including Microsoft Office. Valid driver’s license. Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug screening and background screening process. Benefits Salary $54,942.79 DOQ.
