Engineering Manager II - Mechanical Engineering

Position Overview The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation. Key Responsibilities Support project staffing plans, schedules, budgets, bids, and estimates for proposed program work packages, including execution of risk mitigation plans. Ensure availability and effectiveness of required tools, processes, and training to achieve program success, while aligning with SNC tools/processes and industry best practices/standards. Manage resource allocations for program task execution and identify risk, issue, and challenge. Collaborate with the business to determine staffing requirements and help source, screen, interview, and hire top engineering talent. Execute onboarding support, training, mentorship, and talent development activities for engineering discipline teams. Provide career path support, conduct performance evaluations, and facilitate conflict resolution. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s of Science degree in a related discipline. 8+ years of progressive engineering experience, including 4+ years of management experience. Experience leading the development, maturation, and approval of product‑level designs. Advanced knowledge of industry‑standard mechanical design principles (parametric design, model‑based definition, material selection, manufacturing, and production processes). Thorough understanding of engineering principles and practices. Experience withComputer‑Aided Engineering tools, analysis, and simulation. Ability to work in multi‑disciplinary design and development teams. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5. Experience with CATIA 3D and other industry‑standard CAD tools. Familiarity with drafting standards per ASME Y14.100 or the DRMs. Experience with reverse engineering practices (3D scanning, hand‑surveying). Familiarity with additive manufacturing (3D printing). Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM). Proven interview experience for technical engineering positions. Strong mentorship and conflict resolution capabilities. Background in Aerospace and Defense Industry, U.S. Department of Defense or U.S. Military. Proficiency with Microsoft Project. Benefits Friendly and talented colleagues.
