Food Service Assistant

Prepares appealing and nutritious meals that meet the goals and objectives of the Food Service program. Monday - Friday, 5 hours per day. Starting August 2026.

High School Diploma. No experience necessary, will train on job. Nights, weekends, holidays & summers off. On the job training. Terrific dedicated staff to work alongside. Free professional training in food safety, nutrition, culinary skills & school meal program. Opportunity for advancement.

To prepare appealing and nutritious meals that meet the goals and objectives of the Food Service program.

Assumes responsibilities as directed by the food service manager. Such duties may include cooking, cashiering, serving, baking and cleaning (including dishwashing). When cashiering, accurately performs daily accounting procedures following the Point o Sales (POS) program. Documents all activity (removal of products and supplies) from the supply areas. Assists in the serving of food to students, staff and visitors in a pleasant and efficient manner. Maintains high standards of safety and cleanliness in the school kitchens. Maintains high standards of professional appearance and work habits. Performs daily washing and sterilizing of food service equipment. Carries out all other duties, which may be assigned by the food service manager or the Director of Food Services.

Days contracted as per Letter of Agreement. In accordance with district procedures.

Short demonstration only. Ability to work with staff, students and visitors. May be exposed to cleaning fluids, knives, hot water and other hot liquids, hot ovens and stovetops. This is an active position and the employee is required to do physical labor. Employee is typically unable to sit as needed.
