Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Corporate Attorney for their Legal Department. The right candidate will work on a broad range of matters related to corporate agreements, corporate entity formation and matters involving the Board of Directors, US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) compliance and filings and corporate financings. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesFamiliar with Corporate legal mattersDraft and review corporate agreements and contractsAssist in due diligence on corporate and financing transactionsAssist in the formation, management and compliance related to corporate entitiesPrepare materials for the Board of Directors in a NYSE publicly listed companyWork on SEC filings and compliance mattersReview and work with a team on financing mattersLooking for specific experience and/or a combination of corporate experiences in the listed dutiesRegular and reliable attendanceAdditional ResponsibilitiesMaintain current knowledge of new laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting the company, and assist with the development of policies and training as neededAdditional duties as assignedQualificationsEducation and/or Experience Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and current license to practice law is required Active member in good standing with a State BarPreferred between one and four years of relevant experience with an in-house organization or law firmExperience with corporate governance and compliance rolesAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applicationsProficiency with MS Office, Excel and OutlookOrganizational skillsAbility to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
