Express Employment Professionals has partnered with a well-established, patient-centered specialty healthcare organization in the Austin area that is seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to join their team.


This is a full-time, in-office opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with patients and is comfortable in a busy medical office environment. The ideal candidate will be professional, personable, organized, and experienced with medical front-office responsibilities.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
Pay: $24.00/hour
Location: Westlake/Bee Cave area of Austin
Position: Full-time, On-site

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors and provide a welcoming, professional first impression
• Answer and route incoming phone calls
• Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments
• Assist with patient check-in and check-out and maintain efficient patient flow
• Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information
• Collect patient payments and copays as needed
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and confidential records
• Communicate with patients regarding appointments, delays, and general questions
• Coordinate with internal teams regarding patient balances and insurance information
• Prepare paperwork, documentation, and incoming/outgoing mail
• Maintain an organized reception and waiting area
• Assist with basic patient rooming and vitals as needed
• Follow HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements at all times

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a healthcare setting is required
• Previous medical receptionist, patient access, medical front desk, or similar experience strongly preferred
• Strong customer service and patient communication skills
• Comfortable handling high-volume phone calls and multiple priorities
• Familiarity with medical terminology preferred
• Basic understanding of health insurance, copays, and patient balances
• Experience with EMR/EHR systems and general computer proficiency
• Ability to remain professional and de-escalate difficult patient or caller situations
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
• Spanish bilingual skills are a plus
• Must be able to provide 3 professional references, preferably from a supervisor or manager

Please Note: This position is located in the Westlake/Bee Cave area of Austin. Candidates should be comfortable commuting to this location Monday through Friday.
