In this energetic position, you will be responsible for directing traffic, setting up work zones, and assisting heavy equipment operators to maintain smooth operations across various civil infrastructure projects. Your expertise will help protect workers, motorists, and the public while supporting the successful completion of construction initiatives.

Duties

• Set up and maintain safe traffic control devices such as cones, barriers, signs, and flagging equipment in accordance with regulations and project specifications.
• Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic around active construction zones or highway maintenance sites to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Perform routine inspections of work zones, traffic control setups to identify maintenance needs.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols during outdoor work, heavy lifting, manual handling tasks, and when working with hand tools or power tools.
• Support other construction tasks such as highway maintenance, road paving, or civil infrastructure improvements while maintaining a focus on safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure project timelines are met while prioritizing safety standards at all times.

Experience

• Proven experience working on construction sites or in civil infrastructure roles involving road construction or highway maintenance projects.
• Knowledge of traffic control procedures for work zones and familiarity with ATTSA
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks using hand tools or power tools in outdoor environments.
• Prior experience working outdoors on construction projects with a focus on heavy equipment operation or civil infrastructure is highly desirable.
• Mechanical knowledge combined with practical skills in using various construction tools will be considered an asset.
• Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and directing traffic effectively in busy work zones.
