Director of Ecommerce

A fast-growing brand is looking for a Director of eCommerce to launch and run its direct-to-consumer channel from the ground up. This is a hands-on execution role — you'll operate within a strategy and budget set by leadership, own the P&L day to day and build the commercial and operational infrastructure that makes the channel profitable and scalable.
What You'll Own
- Execute the DTC P&L end to end — revenue, marketing spend and contribution margin — operating within company-approved strategy, budget and guidelines
- Present channel performance, insights and recommendations to the executive team on a monthly cadence
- Lead paid customer acquisition across Meta, Google, TikTok and other channels with disciplined ROAS, MER and CAC management — whether run in-house or through agencies
- Drive conversion rate improvement across site experience, merchandising, PDPs and A/B testing
- Manage the promotional and site marketing calendar in partnership with the Director of Digital Merchandising
- Build email, SMS and loyalty programs to grow repeat purchase rates and customer LTV
- Manage DTC pricing and assortment in coordination with wholesale and marketplace channels to protect retail partner relationships
- Recruit, develop and lead the DTC team
- Manage external agency and vendor relationships
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years in ecommerce and digital marketing including 4+ years leading a DTC channel with P&L accountability
- Deep, hands-on performance marketing expertise — has personally managed Meta and Google campaigns with budget accountability
- Strong Shopify or comparable platform expertise across merchandising and conversion optimisation
- Klaviyo or comparable lifecycle marketing experience
- Highly analytical — fluent in contribution margin economics, cohort analysis and LTV modelling
- Entrepreneurial, lean-environment operator comfortable building from scratch
