Job Description

Engineer I

Duties: Perform structural analysis and design of temporary structures used in construction and industrial settings, including scaffolding, shoring, suspended platforms, and hoisting systems.

Perform detailed drawings, calculations and submittals for access systems (scaffold, hoist elevators, mast climbers, suspended systems). Design Elevated access platforms and personnel/material hoists for construction, energy and industrial sectors. Apply fundamentals of structural design/engineering concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the structural engineering industry. Prepare drawing submittals using AutoCAD or Revit for projects following applicable design codes, OSHA regulations, local codes and company guidelines. Oversee and coordinate the preparation of plans, specifications, and construction documents. Provide technical assistance to branches, including visiting branches and project sites. Mentor and guide junior engineers, working with other application engineers to provide technical support for regional branch customers, including scaffold erection drawings, bill of materials and site visits. Stay current on industry codes, standards, and emerging trends to deliver innovative solutions. Follow BrandSafway design guidelines and standards. Collaborate with BrandSafway Product Development engineers to provide custom product solutions and design feedback. Gain expertise in the company’s extensive product offerings to provide right/unique access solutions. Remote work permitted from any U.S. location. 15% domestic travel to client sites for meetings and inspections.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or a closely related engineering field. Engineer-in-Training Certification. 1 year of structural engineering design experience, to include each of the following: 1 year of experience using standard engineering techniques and procedures; 1 year of experience applying structural design codes, including each of the following: AISC, ACI, ASCE, IBC, and OSHA; 1 year of experience using an engineering structural design software program, such as STAAD, RISA, TEDDS, or an equivalent program; and 1 year of experience using drafting software, such as 3D AutoCAD, Revit, or an equivalent program.

Salary: $100,131 per year
