Job Description
This role focuses on performing high-quality MIG welding and fabrication to assemble, repair, and prepare metal components in a manufacturing environment. You will use your welding fundamentals, blueprint reading, and metalworking skills to produce precise, durable welds on stainless, mild, and carbon steel across multiple positions.
Responsibilities

• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions while ensuring consistent quality and adherence to specifications.
• Prepare broken or damaged parts for welding by grooving or scarfing surfaces to create proper weld profiles.
• Position and clamp workpieces together or assemble them in jigs or fixtures to maintain alignment and dimensional accuracy.
• Tack assemblies together to hold components in place prior to completing final welds.
• Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings to understand weld symbols, dimensions, and assembly requirements.
• Use hand and power tools, such as grinders and fitting tools, to prepare, fit, and finish metal components.

Essential Skills

• At least 1+ year of on the job welding experience.
• Basic understanding of welding fundamentals and processes.
• Competence in fitting, grinding, and basic fabrication tasks.
• Consistent, positive attendance history.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with blueprint reading and weld symbol interpretation.
• Strong eagerness to learn and develop additional welding and fabrication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a production team.
• Attention to detail when inspecting welds for quality and specifications.

This is a Contract position based out of Altamont, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
