HVAC Mechanic

Seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanic to support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial HVAC systems in a federal/government facility environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related mechanical systems while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and refrigeration equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and routine servicing
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical system issues
• Repair or replace compressors, motors, thermostats, controls, belts, filters, and related components
• Maintain boilers, chillers, air handlers, rooftop units, and ventilation systems
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Ensure all work complies with OSHA, EPA, and local code requirements
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and service documentation
• Respond to emergency service calls as needed
• Coordinate with facility staff and contractors to ensure uninterrupted building operations

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid HVAC Journeyman License (required)
• Universal EPA/CFC Certification (required)
• Minimum 35 years of commercial or industrial HVAC experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of HVAC controls, refrigeration cycles, and mechanical systems
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical components
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in mechanical spaces, rooftops, and varying weather conditions
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
