Credit Analyst I

Credit Analyst IThis position is responsible for analysis and monitoring the financial condition and credit worthiness of individuals and businesses applying for credit by using historical financial analysis and cash flow projections.Major duties and responsibilities include:Analyzing all relevant loan data on new, renewal and existing loansPreparing thorough and concise memos, spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions for Loan OfficersManaging the bank's exposure to identified risks and recommending appropriate structure for transactionsOverseeing and managing financial information filesEstablishing, reviewing and updating new and existing loan filesProviding technical advice and assistance to Loan OfficersPerforming credit inquiriesAdditional duties and responsibilities include:Effectively communicating with Customers, Loan Officers, and Bank ManagementGenerating solutions to problems and suggesting alternative solutions when necessaryParticipating in Bank-wide projectsManaging a high volume of loan activity through new originations or managing the existing portfolioCreating and maintaining solid working relationships with Loan Officers and other team membersAssisting in the training and development of Credit Analyst IAdhering to all company policies, core values and proceduresDemonstrating a genuine interest in learning and working in the banking professionDressing professionallyCompleting required compliance exams on an annual basisTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Required Education and Work Experience:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related fieldMinimum 3-5 years of credit analysis experienceSix months experience with credit systemsPossesses specific area of underwriting expertise in one or more areas of lendingKnowledge of accounting sufficient to understand and analyze the relationships between the different financial statementsKnowledge and Skills Requirements:Very strong financial analytical abilities, with knowledge of financial ratiosAdvanced proficiency in ExcelAbility to structure and underwrite larger, more complex transactionsExcellent interpersonal, technical, problem solving, and written communication skillsDemonstrates initiative, judgment/discernment and self motivation to work with minimal supervisionDemonstrates resourcefulness and concern for quality by understanding systems and processes and suggesting changes when necessary to increase overall efficiencyDemonstrates dependability through good attendance and adherence to time lines and schedules
