Policy Analyst

This position is located in the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Veterans' Employment and Training Service (VETS), Office of Research and Policy (ORP). This position is inside the bargaining unit. You must meet the Specialized Experience to qualify for Policy Analyst, as described below. For GS-12: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level GS-11 in the Federal Service. Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Specialized experience must include at least three of the following: Experience analyzing legislation, policies, and executive orders affecting agency programs and formulating interpretations. Experience developing and formulating policies regarding the application of statutes administered by an agency. Experience conducting research and preparing policy recommendations and briefings. Experience participating in planning meetings with high-level officials to develop goals, strategies, and implementing regulations.
