The Big Picture and Why This Position Exists.

As a F.C. Tucker Staff Accountant you will be responsible for performing general accounting functions, such as month-end financial closing procedures, bank reconciliations, and journal entry preparation/posting in a manner that minimizes errors and discrepancies all while providing support for real estate agents by resolving any issues or concerns that may arise. By completing the assigned accounting functions effectively and timely you will be directly involved in ensuring the accounting department operates as efficiently and reliably as possible.

A normal day might entail:

• Completing sections of the monthly audit book, including bank reconciliations and revenue account reconciliations.
• Reconciling key balance sheet accounts every month.
• Fostering collaborative working relationships with agents and colleagues by maintaining a professional, positive, and supportive demeanor.
• Timely responding to agents’ questions and requests for assistance.
• Executing month-end, quarter-end & year-end close.
• Collaborating on strategic financial projects and internal controls.
• Maintaining the general ledger and ensuring accurate financial records.
• Providing back-up support across all functions of the accounting department as needed.
• Assisting in the cross-training of team member across accounts payable, receivables, and commission processing.
• A variety of other things as well.

  This job might be for you if you:

• Have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field.
• Have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.
• Have a thorough understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and intercompany ledger management.
• Possess strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
• Have the ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• Are highly organized with a meticulous level of detail.
• Enjoy working independently but also embrace collaborating within a cross-functional team.

Experience that would be nice but not necessary:

• Google G Suite/Workspace (e.g. Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Drive)
• Microsoft Excel Power Query
• Lone Wolf Accounting Software

Standard Schedule: 8:30 - 5:00 pm, with a 1 hour lunch break; Monday – Friday; 37.5 hours per week.

After 6 months, this position is eligible for a 9/75 Compressed Workweek Flexible Work Arrangement, meaning an employee can work 75 hours in 9 days as opposed to 75 hours in 10 days, resulting in a 3 day weekend once per pay period.

Compensation Range: $47,000 - $63,000 per year. Final offer will be commensurate with the candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and qualifications.
