Podiatrist (General)

Job Title

Seeking a board certified or board eligible Podiatrist to treat outpatients.

Duties

The podiatrist will examine, diagnose, and medically treat disorders, diseases, deformities or injuries of the foot and ankle.

The incumbent will provide care of diabetic patients' feet as directed by VA policy.

This includes comprehensive care of Diabetes Mellitus, Peripheral Vascular Disease, and other systemic conditions involving the foot, and will be experienced in handling complex podiatrist problems through medical, biomechanical, and other treatment measures.

The podiatrist will provide wound care for local, uncomplicated wounds and have the skills and insight to recognize and refer those rare and difficult cases which are beyond the ability of the facility to support.

Podiatrist will provide pre-operative evaluations to include but not limited to providing risks, benefits, alternative treatments and obtaining informed consent.

Work Schedule

Mon-Fri, 8:00am-4:30pm

Compressed/Flexible: May be authorized if approved by supervisor
