Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

The Radiologist will diagnose patient disorders/diseases using x-rays, ultrasound, magnetic resonance, and radioactive materials. Duties include but not limited to:

• Obtains patients' histories from electronic records, patient interviews, dictated reports, and by communicating with referring clinicians.
• Prepares comprehensive interpretive reports of findings.
• Performs and interprets the outcomes of diagnostic imaging procedures including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computer tomography (CT), positron emission tomography (PET), nuclear cardiology treadmill studies, mammography, and ultrasound.
• Reviews and transmits images and information using picture archiving and communications systems.
• Communicates examination results and diagnostic information to referring physicians, patients, and families.
• Evaluates medical information to determine patients' risk factors (such as allergies to contrast agents) and to make decisions regarding the appropriateness of procedures.
• Provides counseling to radiologic patients to explain the processes, risks, benefits, and alternative treatments.
• Confers with medical professionals regarding image-based diagnoses.
• Coordinates radiological services with other medical activities.
• Documents performance, interpretation, and outcomes of procedures performed.
• Establishes and enforces standards for protection of patients and staff.
• Develops and monitors procedures to ensure adequate quality control of images.
• Administers radiopaque substances by injection, orally, and as enemas to render internal structures and organs visible on x-ray films and fluoroscopic screens.
• Recognizes and treats complications during and after procedures including blood pressure problems, pain, oversedation, and bleeding.
• Participates in continuing education activities to maintain and develop expertise.
• Participates in quality improvement activities including discussions of areas where risk of error is high.
• Implements protocols in areas such as drugs, resuscitation, emergencies, power failures, and infection control.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm

Additional Requirement: American Board of Radiology (ABR) certification or equivalent.
