Shipping and Receiving Coordinator

The Shipping, Receiving & Inventory Coordinator will be responsible for handling customer communications, including email correspondence, filing forms, data entry, and updating Excel spreadsheets. You will manage receiving customer orders and ensure everything is sent out efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Pick, pack, and stage outbound orders based on sales orders and shipping schedules.
• Verify item accuracy, quantities, serial numbers, and required documentation prior to shipment.
• Generate shipping labels, packing slips, and Bills of Lading (BOLs).
• Coordinate daily carrier pickups, including UPS, FedEx, and freight carriers.
• Ensure proper packaging and labeling to prevent damage during transit.
• Receive inbound shipments from suppliers and internal transfers.
• Verify incoming quantities, part numbers, serial numbers, and condition against purchase orders and packing slips.
• Accurately record receipts and shipment updates in the ERP/WMS system in real time.
• Label, barcode, and put away inventory into designated storage locations.
• Perform cycle counts, stock adjustments, and support periodic physical inventory counts.
• Maintain clean, organized, and clearly labeled shipping, receiving, and inventory storage areas.
• Identify and report discrepancies, damages, or inventory issues promptly.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Excel and data entry.
• Experience in inventory management and control.
• Customer service orientation.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work on your feet in a warehouse environment.
• Basic computer literacy and comfort learning warehouse systems and tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in warehouse, shipping, receiving, or inventory is preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems, barcode scanners, and shipping carrier portals is an asset.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chattanooga, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
