Job Summary The Mental Health Professional III role delivers exceptional psychiatric treatment to patients and their loved ones, prioritizing patient satisfaction through patient‑centered, high‑quality care. Responsibilities include evaluations, psycho‑education, group activities, treatment planning, discharge mapping, and therapeutic counseling in one‑on‑one, family, and group settings. Responsibilities Maintain effective communication with patients, families, multidisciplinary teams, and continuum of care providers. Demonstrate professionalism and use good communication skills to interact with peers, staff, patients, and families, resolving conflicts. Maintain clear professional boundaries and provide education about state commitment processes, abuse reporting requirements, the duty to warn, and guardianship processes. Demonstrate knowledge of hospital code roles. Serve as an educational resource to patients, families, interdisciplinary team members, payer representatives, and other parties regarding behavioral services. Review, coach, and assist with training of new staff/interns as assigned. Participate in developing department goals and clinical programming. Perform utilization review as assigned. Assist with process and quality improvement initiatives. Qualifications Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Professional/Mental Health Counselor (LPC/LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Master’s degree in a relevant field.
