Austin Oaks Hospital is seeking a Staffing Coordinator to oversee and manage nursing department schedules. This role is responsible for ensuring all hospital units are appropriately staffed in alignment with budgeted levels and patient volume. The ideal candidate will balance efficient labor utilization with the delivery of high-quality patient care, making real-time staffing adjustments as needed to support operational excellence.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Staffing Coordinator responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Coordinate and manage all staffing operations within the Nursing department.
• Manage the approved scheduling software (UKG), making real-time adjustments to staffing levels based on census changes, call-ins, PTO requests, and planned leaves of absence to maintain adequate shift and unit coverage.
• Respond promptly to emergency staffing situations and call-offs to ensure continuous coverage. When unavailable, ensure Nursing leadership is fully briefed on call-off protocols to maintain seamless operations.
• Review and process PTO requests, proactively arranging coverage to support uninterrupted patient care and departmental efficiency.

Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: One year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred. Knowledge of UKG
