This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.As part of a hardworking team of specialists, you will work closely with engineering design to support all manufacturing efforts for machined components on mills, lathes and multi axis machines for various spaceflight systems. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will translate engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into work instructions that will produce high quality hardware. Throughout the manufacturing process, you will also identify, develop, and deploy methods to improve quality, reduce cost, and optimize machining processes and schedules. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.Additional responsibilities include:Identify, develop, and deploy or refine manufacturing methods to improve quality, reduce cost and optimize build scheduleTranslate engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into fully functional, high quality machined componentsDevelop manufacturing work instructions to clearly define manufacturing processDefine how to set up hardware for machining on mills, lathes, multi-axis and EDM machinesConduct DFM and PFMEA studies to strengthen the feedback loop between design and machiningPerform engineering drawing review and provide final approval for manufacturingDefine and support repair and rework activities for machined componentsDesign, procure, install, and integrate custom manufacturing equipmentPerform root cause analyses when non-conformances and escapes are identified and deploy corrective actionsManage hardware configuration and maintain pedigree throughout the entire machining processSafely work within an industrial environment10% travel to Blue Origin sites: AL, FL, and TXWe are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering, or other relevant experience2+ years of machining experience developing manufacturing process requirementsAbility to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test proceduresExperience with designing, measuring, modifying, and monitoring processesAbility to communicate clearly and appropriately at all levels of the organizationExcellent blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standardDetail-oriented and self-motivated individual capable of prioritizing work to meet project completion datesDesired:Experience with component-level fabrication processes (machining, grinding, forging, welding, casting, etc.)Familiar with hard metals, casting, and 3D printed componentsFamiliar with applicable industry standardsExcellent technical writing, grammar, and presentation experienceCompensation Range for:WA applicants is $91,852.00 - $128,592.45Other site ranges may differCulture StatementDon't meet all desired requirements?
