About the Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join a growing team in the Indianapolis area. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, account maintenance, and customer communication. The ideal candidate will have strong data entry skills, a customer-focused mindset, and a basic understanding of accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Process billing transactions through multiple billing and customer portals
• Create, review, and issue invoices accurately and on time
• Verify billing information and ensure invoice accuracy
• Process billing adjustments and corrections as needed
• Generate billing reminders and communicate with customers regarding account balances
• Work closely with accounting teams to resolve billing discrepancies
• Assist with collection efforts by coordinating with internal collections personnel
• Respond to customer billing inquiries professionally and promptly
• Maintain confidential financial and customer information
• Perform data entry and administrative tasks with a high degree of accuracy

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred; equivalent experience considered
• Bachelor's degree is a plus
• Previous billing, accounts receivable, accounting support, or administrative experience preferred
• Understanding of basic accounting principles and practices
• Experience working with billing software, accounting systems, or customer portals is highly preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
• Strong data entry, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Pay Details: $23.00 to $24.00 per hour
