Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on the Med Surg 3CC Unit. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced medical surgical environment, providing care to a variety of patients with diverse needs.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 30
• Nurse to Patient Ratios:
  • Days: 1:4-5
  • Nights: 1:5-6
• Common Diagnoses: Total joint replacement, spinal surgery, urology procedures, abdominal surgery (laparoscopic appendectomy, bowel resection), bariatrics, medical overflow, hemo hemovacs, JP drains, colostomies.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the medical surgical unit.
• Assist with post-operative care and early ambulation of patients.
• Administer medications and manage pain via PCA pumps and occasional TPN as needed.
• Participate in bedside shift report to ensure continuity of care.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members and support nursing assistants and patient care technicians.
• Float to other medical/surgical areas or telemetry units as required.

Qualifications

• Current RN license and BLS certification required.
• Preferred experience in surgical settings and post-operative care.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a cohesive team.

Work Schedule

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: As needed
