Direct Support Professional – Day Program Dungarvin is seeking experienced Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to coach and foster engagement by leading workshops designed to support individuals with developmental disabilities. DSPs act as life coaches, mentoring and continuously engaging participants and guiding groups through activities such as art, music, games, audio/visual, cooking, reading, and other life enrichment programs. They also provide direct care support, behavioral interventions as needed, and ensure timely and accurate documentation of daily progress. Job Responsibilities Coach and mentor individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD). Engage participants through workshop activities to enhance life skills (music, art, games, reading, audio/visual). Teach and assist with daily life skills such as cooking, money management, and community volunteering to foster independence. Lead fun outings and workshops, continuously engaging individuals in activities. Assist with personal care and provide behavioral interventions daily. Perform housekeeping and laundry duties. Provide compassionate, person‑centered care tailored to individual needs. Collaborate with the team to create a safe, supportive, and enjoyable environment. Qualifications 6+ months of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. High school diploma or GED. 18 years or older. Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a company van. Comfortable providing personal care and behavioral support. Compassion, patience, professionalism. Positive attitude and adaptability. Initiative and strong problem‑solving skills. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, active work environment. Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new systems. Excellent communication skills for documenting care, following support plans, and collaborating with internal and external teams. Ability to lift and transfer up to 50 lbs.
