Transportation Supervisor

divh2Job Title/h2pResponsible for supervising the delivery drivers within the Distribution Center. Supervises and trains employees while managing the scheduling of deliveries./ph3Essential Duties and Responsibilities/h3pInclude the following. Other duties may be assigned./pulliManages, coordinates and directs the transportation network within an assigned area of responsibility, and serves as the primary link between drivers, logistics, and dock supervisors to ensure timely departures./liliSchedules drivers and assigns routes to maximize productivity and ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company rules, working with local dock supervisor to ensure timely departure of trucks./liliConducts driver interviews and manages temporary drivers with local partners/liliSupervises employees who make deliveries to and from specified locations. Ensures drivers comply with their essential duties and responsibilities. Also manages day-to-day activities for drivers, including call outs, getting backfill/coverage, disciplinary actions, training, etc./liliResponsible for handling delivery issues, including acting as the overnight point person./liliDevelops and maintains transportation and distribution procedures to maximize delivery efficiency. Includes traffic, and road signage./li/ulh3Education/Experience/h3pBachelors degree or related field or equivalent education and/or experience required in position of at least 4 years./ph3Language Ability/h3pAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to write legibly./ph3Math Ability/h3pAbility to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s./ph3Reasoning Ability/h3pAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
