IP Attorney Austin, TX, US Job Description Experience: Mid Level Salary: $275,000 - $310,000 per year Job Details We are seeking a mid-level Patent Litigation Associate to join a nationally recognized intellectual property practice. This opportunity is available in the Dallas, Austin, and New York offices and is ideal for an attorney with meaningful experience handling complex patent disputes. The associate will work on sophisticated matters involving advanced technologies and collaborate closely with experienced trial lawyers on cases before federal district courts, the U.S. International Trade Commission, and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Handle complex patent litigation matters from initial case development through resolution Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, claim-construction filings, and other substantive legal documents Conduct legal and technical research involving patent infringement, validity, enforceability, and damages Manage written discovery, document productions, and expert-related discovery Take and defend depositions Work closely with technical experts and consultants Assist with Markman proceedings, dispositive motions, trial preparation, and post-trial matters Support proceedings before U.S. district courts, the ITC, and the PTAB Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on case strategy Manage multiple deadlines across sophisticated, high-stakes matters Qualifications Mid-level experience handling patent litigation matters Experience before U.S. district courts, the U.S. International Trade Commission, or the Patent Trial and Appeal Board Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills Experience working with technical subject matter, expert witnesses, and complex discovery Patent Bar membership preferred Federal judicial clerkship experience is a plus Strong academic credentials Admission to the applicable state Bar and in good standing Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within lean, collaborative litigation teams Excellent judgment, organization, and attention to detail Undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field preferred This role offers the opportunity to work on nationally significant patent disputes while gaining meaningful responsibility alongside highly experienced intellectual property litigators.
