NC FAST Power BI and Data engineer

Job Summary (List Format):
- Serve as Data Engineer for DHHS-ITD, focusing on the design, development, and optimization of cloud-based analytics environments.
- Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and other Azure services.
- Integrate and manage data ingestion workflows from Salesforce and other sources, including API integrations and schema alignment.
- Develop and maintain data models, data transformations, and semantic layers to support Power BI dashboards and analytics.
- Optimize data pipelines, SQL queries, and data storage for enhanced performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to pipeline failures, Salesforce API integrations, and Power BI refresh problems.
- Utilize strong hands-on experience with Power BI for dashboard configuration, design, development, and testing.
- Leverage advanced SQL skills for query writing, ETL/ELT processes, performance tuning, and optimization.
- Apply programming skills in Python or Scala for data processing tasks.
- Work with structured and semi-structured data formats (JSON, CSV, Parquet, etc.).
- Develop efficient PL/SQL procedures and utilize scripting languages for data query optimization.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of Azure cloud services including Synapse, Data Lake, Data Factory, and Azure SQL.
- Apply knowledge of data modeling concepts and data warehousing (star schema, snowflake schema) using Azure Data Lake Storage and Delta Lake.
- Support data and analytics requirements for Child Welfare and Medicaid programs in compliance with organizational standards and timelines.
