Welder II

Welder 2Welder 2 is responsible for handling more complex welding tasks, independently interpreting blueprints and specifications, and producing high-quality welds. This position requires a strong understanding of various welding techniques and materials, with minimal supervision.Role and Responsibilities:Perform MIG and TIG welding on diverse materials, including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and ductile iron.Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications.Ensure all welds meet quality standards and customer specifications.Conduct routine maintenance of welding equipment and report any issues.Monitor welding processes to prevent defects and ensure safety.Assist in training and guiding Welder 1 employees.Maintain a safe and organized workspace.Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.Qualifications and Education Requirements:3-5 years of experience in welding with various materials.High school diploma or GED required; advanced welding certification preferred.Proficient in MIG and TIG welding techniques.Strong ability to follow blueprints and technical instructions.Commitment to producing high-quality work with minimal supervision.Must be willing to work occasional rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.Preferred Skills:Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Ability to work well independently and with a team.Experience with multiple welding tools and equipment.Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.Physical:Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).Comfortable working in a loud, industrial environment with protective gear.Comfortable working in confined spaces or at various heights.Custom Pipe and Fabrication is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, or veteran status.
