Director, Origination – Business Development & Sales Deerpath Capital is looking for a Director of Origination to join their team in Chicago. In this role, you’ll manage relationships with sponsors, identify promising transaction opportunities, and lead the due diligence process. This is a great opportunity for someone with extensive experience in finance who enjoys building relationships and driving deals. What You’ll Do Build and manage relationships with sponsors to generate deal flow. Identify and screen attractive transaction opportunities. Oversee the internal investment approval process. Negotiate deal terms with sponsors and borrowers. Lead the due diligence process. Review and negotiate legal documentation. Monitor the performance of existing credits. What You Need 10+ years of overall experience in finance. 6-10+ years in buy-side credit, direct lending, or debt capital markets. Excellent communication skills for negotiations. Strong academic background, including a bachelor’s degree. Proficient in financial modeling. Ability to work independently and travel as needed.
