Experienced Heavy Equipment Operator - Construction Site

The Heavy Equipment Operator will support Aptim Federal Services Civil IJO Shop 536 at Fort Benning by operating heavy equipment such as: Bulldozers, Skid-Steers, Mini-Excavators, Large Excavators, Frontend Loaders, Rollers, Man-lifts, Farm Tractors with attachments, and Motor Graders with or without joysticks. The Operator will be expected to use equipment to excavate, load, move dirt, gravel, or other materials to construct earth berms, building pads, install culvert pipe, erosion repair, and areas for paving with asphalt or concrete. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities Daily time entry. Daily operation of heavy equipment. Read and interpret grade/slope stakes and simple plans. Ensure equipment is in the best working condition by conducting daily inspections, equipment greasing, minor repairs, and cleaning equipment daily. Other job duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications Must have 3-5 years of experience being an Equipment Operator. Must have High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid State Driver’s License. Meet requirements for: pre-employment physical, drug screening, background check, and MVR check (MVR points are subject to company policy). Wage rates and fringe benefits for this position are governed by terms of a collective bargaining agreement (CBA) between the company and a union with jurisdiction for the job location. APTIM pays the costs for some fringe benefit plans for employees working on union projects.
