The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of cost estimation processes, industry standards, and advanced software tools to deliver precise and competitive project bids. Responsibilities Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical systems in data centre projects. Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine project requirements. Utilize industry-standard software tools such as Accubid, Bluebeam, and McCormick to develop comprehensive estimates. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project scope and budget. Identify potential risks and opportunities within project estimates and provide recommendations for mitigation or optimization. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure competitive and accurate pricing. Review and validate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure alignment with project requirements. Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and reports to internal teams and clients. Support the development of value engineering solutions to optimize project costs without compromising quality. Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and company policies during the estimation process. Qualifications Proven experience in electrical estimating, with a focus on data centre or similar large-scale projects. Proficiency in cost estimation software such as Accubid, Bluebeam, and McCormick. Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to interpret complex technical drawings, specifications, and contracts. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. Professional certifications in estimating or project management are an asset. Day-to-Day Review project documentation and conduct detailed take-offs for electrical systems. Input data into estimation software and generate accurate cost models. Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing. Participate in project meetings to discuss scope, budget, and timelines. Provide ongoing support to project teams during the pre-construction and construction phases. Update and maintain a database of historical costs and project benchmarks.
