Dietitian - OutpatientThe Dietitian – Part Time (PT) provides nutritional education and nutritional patient care to assigned patient populations. Screens patients for nutritional risk.Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:Instructs, educates, and counsels with patients and their significant others in nutritional therapy and develops individualized care plans in accordance with the patients disease state, nutritional status, physical, emotional and social needs.Documents pertinent objective and subjective data pertaining to patient status and care in the electronic medical record.Screens patients for nutritional risk. Assesses and reassesses nutritional status of patients and develops nutritional care plans in accordance with patient preferences, age, disease state, and resources.Prioritizes patient care activities, and implements or recommends appropriate changes to improve practice protocols and clinical practice guidelines and schedules follow up assessments and appointments at appropriate intervals to monitor progress.Consults with physicians and other members of the interdisciplinary care team. Serves as a nutritional resource person to other health care professionals, interns, trainees, community civic groups, media, etc.Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations and policies that impact and govern dietetic practice and conducts in-services, authors publications, conducts research to contribute to the education and understanding of the science of nutrition.Job description is not an all-inclusive list of duties and may be subject to change with or without notice. Staff are expected to perform other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:One of the following qualification groupings is required for this position as indicated below:Bachelor's degree in nutrition and dietetics from an accredited college or university.Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (or Registry eligible with registration acquired within 90 days of employment).Licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Dietitians within 6 months of employment.Bachelor's degree in any field of study but has completed the requirements of the specified dietetics program that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (or Registry eligible with registration acquired within 90 days of employment).Licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Dietitians within 6 months of employment.Preferred Qualifications:None.Location Address: 1500 S.
