Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced travel RN for a Flex Pool Med/Surg Night position in Hawaii, requiring an active HI RN license and 2+ years of med/surg or step-down experience.

Details

• Hospital-based position floating between multiple medical and surgical units, including a Medical Unit (77 beds), Laulima Surgical Acute Unit (18 beds), and Cardiovascular Unit (15 beds)
• Patient population includes adult med/surg and step-down patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratios vary by unit: Medical Unit 1:6 (days/evenings) and 1:8 (nights), Laulima Unit 1:6, and Cardiovascular Unit 1:4
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:45 PM – 7:15 AM, scheduled 36 hours per week after the first week of orientation
• Meditech EMR in use
• Equipment includes Pyxis medication dispensing, wound vac, and chest tubes

Requirements

• Active Hawaii (HI) RN license required by start of assignment; candidates without one must apply upon offer acceptance
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS/BCLS and ACLS
• Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC
• Documented proof of immunity required; medical and religious exemptions will not be accepted in lieu

Additional Information

• Flex Pool RN role requires floating between the Medical Unit, Laulima Surgical Acute Unit, and Cardiovascular Unit (on rare occasions)
• Unit-specific orientation is provided for each department
• All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of assignment; candidates should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend a Friday morning Employee Health appointment
• Clean, professional scrubs are required
