1st Shift CNC Machinist

The CNC Machinist operates and sets up Haas and Hwacheon 3- and 4-axis CNC turning machines with Fanuc controls in a dynamic job-shop environment. This role focuses on performing complete changeovers, ensuring first-piece quality, and maintaining accurate documentation while meeting production output requirements. The machinist also supports other CNC equipment as needed and contributes to a clean, efficient, and collaborative shop culture.

Responsibilities

• Operate Haas and Hwacheon 3- and 4-axis CNC turning machines using Fanuc controls in a job-shop environment.
• Perform complete machine changeovers and setups, including tooling, fixturing, and program loading.
• Execute required program edits and offsets to achieve accurate first-piece inspections and maintain part quality.
• Accurately measure parts using appropriate inspection tools and record results in quality documentation.
• Ensure production output meets established standards for quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery.
• Operate other CNC equipment as needed to support production requirements and workflow.
• Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications to produce parts to tolerance.
• Apply GD&T principles to ensure parts meet dimensional and geometric requirements.
• Use G and M codes to understand, adjust, and troubleshoot CNC programs as necessary.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and contribute to a safe, well-kept shop environment.
• Collaborate with leads and team members to solve machining issues and continuously improve processes.
• Participate in cross-training opportunities to develop skills on multiple styles of CNC machines.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in CNC setup in a production or job-shop environment.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience working with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Minimum 3+ years of experience working with G and M codes for CNC programming and adjustments.
• Hands-on experience operating Haas CNC machines.
• Hands-on experience operating Hwacheon 3- and 4-axis CNC turning machines.
• Proficiency with Fanuc controls, including making program edits and offset adjustments.
• Ability to perform complete changeovers and setups independently.
• Strong measurement skills and ability to use inspection tools to verify part dimensions.
• Ability to complete accurate quality documentation and follow established quality procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a job-shop environment with varied parts and setups.

Work Environment

This role is based in a first-shift schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some overtime that the shop actively works to limit. The facility is clean and relatively well-lit, with a controlled lunch room and quality room, while the main shop floor is not climate controlled. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
