Description

• Assess the needs of patients spanning pediatric to geriatric groups using recognized evaluation methods and clinical insights.
• Create individualized treatment plans that target immediate goals as well as broader communication or swallowing challenges.
• Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, language development, fluency, voice clarity, and swallowing techniques.
• Collaborate effectively with physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and families to streamline care efforts.
• Educate family members and patients on ways to promote progress in their communication skills beyond therapy sessions.
• Manage occasional inpatient assessments and interventions to ensure seamless patient care along their healthcare journey.
• Document all patient interactions accurately and promptly, in adherence to state, federal, and institutional regulations.
• Engage in ongoing education to remain at the forefront of speech-language pathology practices.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an approved institution.
• Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) issued by ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
