HUMAN RESOURCE ASSISTANT

Full‑Time Professional
Location: Salisbury, MD 
Salary Range: $34,000- $41,000 annually
Schedule: 4-day, 36 hour work week (Monday–Thursday)

QUALIFICATIONS : 

1. High school diploma required; Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Office Management, or related field preferred. 
2. Minimum of two (2) years of administrative, office support, human resources, executive assistant, or related experience. 
3. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS platforms, databases, spreadsheets, and other business software. 
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail. 
5. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, organize information, and meet deadlines. 
6. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion. 
7. Strong customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with employees, leaders, applicants, visitors, and vendors.

 

DUTIES : 

1. Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, CARF accreditation standards, Maryland regulations, and HealthPort policies. 
2. Coordinate and support onboarding activities, including preparing new hire materials, facilitating orientation, completing employment documentation, and assisting with HRIS setup. 
3. Administer HR systems and employee records, including document management, data entry, personnel file maintenance, and reporting. 
4. Coordinate employee training, certifications, licensing requirements, and compliance activities, including maintaining records and communicating renewal requirements. 
5. Assist with background checks, employment verifications, surveys, audits, and regulatory reporting requirements. 
6. Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Department, including scheduling, correspondence, document preparation, and other department support activities. 
7. Serve as a resource to employees and leaders regarding routine HR procedures and direct inquiries to the appropriate department when necessary. 
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

AUTHORITY : 

Position reports to Vice President of HR, receives schedules, assignments, and evaluations from same.

CLASSIFICATION, SALARY, AND BENEFITS : 

Regular, part or full-time position; non-exempt from overtime.
