Facilities Maintenance Technician
Gevity | Austin, TX | Full-Time, On-Call | $25/hour
Reports to: Club Director

About Gevity

Gevity is a members-only wellness and coworking club in Austin built around four pillars: Movement, Recovery, Work, and Community. We're looking for a hands-on Facilities Maintenance Technician to own the day to day upkeep of our space so our members can focus on what they came here for.

What You'll Do

• Own all facilities maintenance operations for the club, reporting directly to the Club Director
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all facility issues, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general wear and tear
• Handle small repairs yourself: drywall patches, paint touch-ups, minor plumbing and electrical fixes, door and hardware repairs, and similar day to day maintenance
• Monitor HVAC system performance and identify issues early. You don't need to repair HVAC systems yourself, but you need enough working knowledge to diagnose problems, know what's normal versus not, and communicate clearly with vendors
• Source, coordinate, and manage outside vendors for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other specialized repairs, including scheduling, on-site access, quality checks, and invoice review
• Conduct routine facility walkthroughs to catch issues before they become bigger problems
• Maintain recovery and movement equipment (saunas, cold plunge, gym equipment, etc.) and coordinate service as needed
• Manage a preventive maintenance schedule (filter changes, equipment checks, safety inspections)
• Keep AED and other safety equipment current and compliant
• Track and manage a facilities work order system, keeping the Club Director informed of recurring or high-cost issues
• Maintain vendor relationships and negotiate service pricing when appropriate
• Serve as the on-call contact for urgent facility issues outside standard hours, including nights and weekends as needed
• Flag any repair or replacement decision above a set cost threshold to the Club Director before approving

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, property management, or a related hands-on trade
• Working knowledge of HVAC systems, enough to troubleshoot and describe issues accurately to vendors; licensed HVAC certification not required
• Comfortable with basic plumbing, electrical, drywall, and carpentry repairs
• Strong communicator who can manage vendor relationships professionally and represent Gevity well
• Self-motivated, able to prioritize and make sound judgment calls without close day to day supervision
• Comfortable working in a member-facing wellness environment; this is a professional space, not a warehouse
• Available and responsive for on-call needs outside normal working hours
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and takes ownership of the space like it's their own

Schedule and Compensation

• Full-time, $25/hour
• Standard club hours plus on-call responsibility for urgent issues
