The Nursing Consultant for Education performs advanced consultative and administrative work for the Texas Board of Nursing. Under the direction of the Lead Consultant for Education and the Director of Nursing, manages regulatory and statutory requirements of nursing education programs which include: assists in interpreting the NPA, rules, and other applicable laws to the stakeholders, prepares reports to the Board, and assists with development and/or revision of position statements, guidelines, interpretive statements, and internal policies and procedures related to nursing education. Conducts program survey visits, analyzes and evaluates new program proposals, participates in education credential reviews and may provide testimony as an expert witness on the NPA, Rules as related to nursing education; communicates with stakeholders, education programs, students and others in matters related to education. Works under minimal supervision with latitude for use of initiative and judgment.
