Job Description and Duties

This position is eligible to telework up to one (1) day a week, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. This is subject to change based on operational need and/or future return to office orders.  The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Under the direction of the Supervisor I, the Analyst II – ERL Special Projects Analyst supports the Employee Resource Office by coordinating employee training, professional development, onboarding, and new employee orientation. The position partners with vendors such as CPS HR and works with managers to schedule necessary trainings, monitor completion, and ensure training compliance. The Analyst II assists with special projects, and maintaining OSP Hiring Manager SharePoint content, and serves as an Employee Resource Liaison by independently analyzing and processing complex Requests for Personnel Actions and advising staff on complex personnel matters.

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests.  The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment and once per year.

Special Requirements

• Employment History on the STD 678 (State Application) must be complete and include employment dates, accurate hours per week, total time worked, duties and responsibilities performed, and contact names and phone numbers of supervisors. License and Certification numbers included on the STD 678 must include issue date and expiration date. Failure to indicate issue and expiration dates will result in disqualification. In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• Experience coordinating employee training, including assignment, tracking, monitoring, and compliance follow-up.
• Experience developing and maintaining guidance materials, templates, and internal resources.
• Experience supporting special projects involving research, coordination, tracking, and follow-up.
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships while providing responsive support to managers and employees
