Contract | 13 Weeks | Rotating Evenings and Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts | Evening: 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM / Night: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Every other weekend required | Every other holiday required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care to adult and geriatric patients across all emergency diagnoses at a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5
• Perform and manage IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and IV vasopressors
• Manage patients requiring CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator support
• Care for patients with CVA/stroke, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
• Conduct cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Perform triage and apply isolation precautions; float within skillset as required; document using EPIC (required)

Required Qualifications

• Active New York Single State RN license required at time of submission (NY is not a Compact state; pending licenses not accepted)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required — must be valid and included at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of emergency room nursing experience
• EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with gunshot wounds, orthopedic trauma, and pediatric emergency cases including pediatric spinal cord injury
• Familiarity with specialized equipment such as Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment
• Experience in a Magnet-recognized or teaching hospital environment
