Maintenance Supervisor

Overview This role is responsible for managing day-to-day activities involving the maintenance of the building/facility, production equipment, and machinery including, but not limited to HVAC, building lighting systems, equipment installation, new building construction, grounds keeping, and overall facility appearance. Performs complex electrical installation and repair work. Supervises and coordinates the work of employees who repair and maintain building/facility, equipment and machinery.This is a Night shift position with a schedule of 8pm - 8am, Monday - Friday (weekends as needed)About this location:Since 2017, Stryten Energy’s 100,000 sq. ft. facility in Kansas City, Missouri, has been a powerhouse of domestic manufacturing. Responsibilities Oversees and performs all supervisory responsibilities for assigned staff, which include scheduling, prioritizing and assigning work, training, hiring, and addressing and/or documenting performance or disciplinary issues.Reviews work orders and other work requests. Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to production and building maintenance.Responds to emergencies as requested. Directs the work of staff and utilization of resources to complete repairs and ensure employee safety. Coordinates overall maintenance activities in consideration of production schedules and department demands.Develops and maintains Preventive Maintenance Schedule program for applicable equipment and machinery for production and facilities.Inspects projects assigned to staff. Develops and recommends improvements or changes when needed.Answers questions and provides information related to projects including resolving problems, approving expenditures, handling complaints and providing technical expertise in area of assignment.Arranges for and manages, appropriate third-party contractor support, as needed. Researches vendors and suppliers to determine best products and services for Company needs. Secures contracts with suppliers and oversees delivery of products and services. Inspects contractors' work to ensure that safe work practices and standard operating procedures are followed.Provides input into the development of the operating budget for the assigned area of responsibility; orders materials and supplies; assists in the monitoring and tracking of expenditures, including supplies, labor and outside contractors.Participates in weekly management meetings and provides project status information to management staff.Actively supports new facility construction or remodeling projects, and equipment assembly or modification. Determines and designs electrical and mechanical systems and equipment, and oversees the installation. Develops prototype of new machines and oversees assembly.Prepares records related to the work performed and materials and supplies used; enters invoices in the computerized purchasing system.Complies with Company and OSHA safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas. Ensures that safety training is provided to staff and that proper safety practices are followed.Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education, Experience, CertificationsBachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline preferredHigh School Diploma with Industrial Maintenance courseworkProven experience in a manufacturing environment, including knowledge of PLCs, HVAC systems, and electrical and mechanical equipmentCompetencies, Skills, KnowledgeExcellent computer skills including Excel, Word, Outlook, MEPProven technical aptitude for electrical and mechanical equipmentUnderstanding of Industrial maintenance systems.Strong communication and documentation skills.Able to handle multiple tasks and create a sense of urgency for completion of tasks.Independent problem solving and decision- making skills.Proficiency with budgeting, Continuous improvement / Lean management, Performance ManagementStrong attention to detailEnvironmental Regulations as they pertain to this facilityKnowledge of OSHA requirements as they pertain to this facilityAble to work all shiftsAbility to follow all environmental, health and safety procedureProven satisfactory work history (attendance and performance). This must be maintained. Attendance is critical to this position.Physical DemandsThis position requires regular work in a manufacturing environment and may require standing, walking, kneeling, crawling, stooping, climbing ladders or accessing platforms and equipment areas. The employee must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.Environment & ScheduleThis role is located at the Kansas City, MO manufacturing site. The role requires presence in manufacturing and production areas. While on the manufacturing floor, employees may be exposed to moving machinery, noise, dust, fumes, varying temperatures, and other industrial conditions. Required personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn in designated areas.This facility operates 24/7 and as a member of the Maintenance Team the Maintenance Supervisor must always be available 7 days a week during their normal shift hours in case of emergency.TravelTravel as required to meet business needs.
