Veterinary Assistant

About the Job As a Veterinary Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring that clients and their pets receive excellent care at every visit. You will be expected to: Assist veterinarians in appointments and surgery. Perform technical duties such as venipuncture, catheter placement, proper restraint, collect and prepare laboratory samples, radiographic positioning, dental prophylaxis, and anesthetic monitoring. Provide client education in pet care, so you must be well versed in regards to various medical procedures and preventive care for pets. Perform reception duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, performing financial transactions, and assisting clients as necessary. 1-2+ years of previous experience in a veterinary hospital setting as a technician or assistant is preferred Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills Must be dependable with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn
