Work Shift Day (United States of America) Kennestone Outpatient Pavilion, PRN PACU RN Required to work Minimum 3 shifts in 4 weeks Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation and evaluation) in the performance of clinical care using evidence‑based practice, analytical/critical thinking, and ensuring individualized care; coordinate care through effective partnerships. Provide relationship‑based, patient‑centered care that is consistent with population‑specific characteristics (e.g., age, gender, disease) and adapts service delivery to reflect an understanding of cultural diversity. Always partner with the patient and significant others using appropriate methods for setting and purpose (e.g., bedside shift report, interdisciplinary rounds, just‑in‑time and planned patient teaching); keep the patient and significant others updated and make the patient’s goals the focus of the plan of care. Practice using current clinical practice standards. Teamwork and Collaboration Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care that promotes the professional care delivery model, including diverse and inclusive interdisciplinary communication methods (interdisciplinary rounds, case review), timely documentation, and a respectful, inclusive clinical environment. Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner and promoting recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members. Participate and support performance improvement inclusive of all stakeholders, research and research utilization to promote safe, quality patient care; initiate and/or lead such activities, promote an inter/intra‑disciplinary process, and actively support/participate in shared governance at all levels. Professional Development and Initiative Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, required mandatory education, and population‑specific education. Serve as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses (and staff or students for all disciplines) to ensure a current and future qualified workforce; model professional nursing practice and create a healthy work environment. Evidence Based Practice and Research Promote evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement; participate in activities such as value analysis as part of decision‑making to evaluate patient care products. Uphold all health‑care system/organizational policies and procedures and clinical competencies, including legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements, ensuring goals such as TJC Patient Safety Goals and Wellstar Health Systems safety absolutes. Participate in data collection, pose relevant clinical questions to advanced evidence‑based practice, consult appropriate experts and use appropriate resources and evidence to address practice questions. Resources and Support Proactively plan for the care of patients across the care continuum during direct patient care. Participate in the development of protocols and procedures when called upon or by self‑initiation in collaboration with care managers and other health‑care team members to achieve best‑practice outcomes (e.g., decrease in re‑admission rates, avoidable days, adverse events).
