Our client is seeking an accomplished and visionary General Manager to lead and grow a high-performing operation serving the construction and infrastructure industries. This is an exceptional opportunity for a proven operational leader who thrives on building strong teams, delivering outstanding customer service, and driving operational excellence through accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
As the senior leader of the operation, the General Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership across all aspects of the business, including field operations, financial performance, workforce development, customer satisfaction, safety, and business growth. This role requires an authentic leader who inspires confidence, develops future leaders, drives operational excellence, and cultivates a culture where accountability, integrity, and performance are fundamental to success.
Whether your experience comes from construction, utilities, heavy civil, infrastructure, industrial services, environmental services, manufacturing, or another operationally intensive industry, we are seeking a leader with the business acumen and executive presence to successfully lead a growing operation.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all operational activities, ensuring the organization consistently achieves its safety, operational, financial, and customer service objectives.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop managers, supervisors, and field personnel to build highly engaged, high-performing teams.
- Drive operational efficiency through workforce planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and performance management.
- Maintain full accountability for operational performance, including profitability, productivity, quality, customer satisfaction, and key performance metrics.
- Build and strengthen relationships with customers, municipalities, vendors, and business partners while identifying opportunities for continued growth and operational expansion.
- Champion a safety-first culture by ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Partner with executive leadership to execute strategic initiatives, improve operational processes, and support long-term organizational growth.
- Promote innovation, operational discipline, and leadership development while creating a culture where people are empowered to succeed.
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive operational leadership experience managing teams within construction, utilities, heavy civil, infrastructure, industrial services, manufacturing, environmental services, or a closely related industry.
- Demonstrated success leading multi-functional operations while achieving measurable financial and operational results.
- Experience managing budgets, workforce planning, production schedules, operational performance, and business objectives.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop leaders while creating a culture of ownership and accountability.
- Sound business acumen with the ability to balance customer expectations, employee engagement, operational excellence, and financial performance.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel as business needs require.
