CT Technologist - Per Diem

Employment Type Part time Duties and Responsibilities Accurately interpret a physician's scanning instructions. Administer contrast material. Prepare and operate CT scan equipment. Position patients to capture appropriate images. Send images to the radiologist for interpretation. Cleans and disinfects scanner and exam rooms. Follow infection control and safety guidelines. Essential Functions Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of human cross‑sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and medical terminology. Maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure techniques. Act as the primary liaison between patients and radiologists and other members of the support team. Use professional and ethical judgment and critical thinking when performing duties. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Operate CT scan equipment skillfully. Pay close attention to detail. Apply a basic understanding of computer technology. Perform all duties using proper body mechanics. Frequently move or lift between 50‑100 pounds, as assigned. Stand for long periods, frequently squatting, twisting, bending, kneeling and reaching to prepare equipment, materials or objects necessary for patient care. Exhibit manual dexterity and fine motor coordination. Work effectively in a stressful environment. Follow directions and instructions from supervisor. Maintain consistent attendance to meet department and patient needs. Comply with all hospital policies, procedures and practices. Working Conditions The CT Technologist must identify and accept possible exposure to radiation, noise, infectious or communicable diseases, blood and blood–borne diseases during routine patient care. Work Environment and Hazards OSHA Category I. Physical Demands Medium work: standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, pulling and lifting as described in the essential functions section. Pay Range $60.00 per hour, based on experience, skills and education. Salary may vary by location. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
