Job Title: NICU Nursing Administrator Profession: Nursing Specialty: Nursing Administration Duration: 16 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 1-2 Years License: RN Certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE (preferred) Must-Have: Experience in a Level III NICU Oxygen therapy experience Nitric oxide therapy experience CPAP experience Chest tube management Care for micro preemies Experience with intubated and vented neonates Delivery experience Transport experience (preferred) Description: This position is for a Nursing Administrator specializing in NICU care. The facility is a Level II Trauma Center with a Level III NICU. The NICU accommodates 18 beds, handling cases including micropreemies, infections, and respiratory distress. Patient ratios are 1:1-3 during both day and night shifts. Support on the unit includes CNAs at a 1:18 ratio, and lab draws are managed by phlebotomy staff. The charge nurse takes an assignment while also overseeing unit operations. Charting will be conducted using the EPIC system. The unit has bedside tele and nurses station tele monitoring without a tele tech present. Neonatologists and Nurse Practitioners are available in-house 24/7. General hospital orientation is included, along with one shift on the unit. There is a weekend rotation every other weekend, and no on-call requirements. Time off can be approved for up to 7 days. Scrub colors are flexible, allowing for any color.
